Acting Chairperson Edel Shaw

Edel Shaw, is a mother of 2 boys, 1 of which has Autism. Following her son’s diagnosis in 2007, Edel became activity involved in her local support group; Laois Offaly Families for Autism (LOFFA) and has been a driving force on its committee for several years. More recently Edel has joined the board of Irish Autism Action as a non-executive director, to help ensure that issues families face on the ground are given a voice at a national level. Professionally, Edel works full time in the Pharmaceuticals Industry where she project manages Clinical Research.

I am an experienced Accountant who has worked in Financial Services for  nearly 40 years. I have  been a member of the  Association of Chartered Certified Accountant’s  for over 30 years and have served on a number of Committees including the Ireland Council.During my career I have been involved in a number of Not for Profit Organisations  and I am pleased to be able to bring my professional experience and  knowledge  to a notable charity such as Irish Autism Action.
